Press Release from the United States Embassy in Panama Oct 26, 2026.

After the 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Panama on October 9, the U.S. Embassy in Panama quickly brought together American companies and private sector partners. Together, they are delivering emergency supplies, restoring essential services, and supporting relief operations in affected communities.

They have delivered drinking water, emergency shelter, medical and hygiene supplies, food, transportation, and satellite connectivity. These contributions complement the U.S. government’s humanitarian assistance now totaling $6 million and the American disaster response specialists and logistics support deployed under President Trump’s direction.

“President Trump directed the United States to respond immediately to help our friends in Panama, and American businesses stepped up alongside us,” said U.S. Ambassador to Panama Kevin Marino Cabrera. “From delivering water to hospitals and restoring critical power to providing American satellite technology for rescue teams, these companies are showing what American investment, innovation, and expertise deliver for our partners. The United States is the largest foreign investor in Panama, and when times get tough, America shows up. Thank you to all the companies helping Panamanian communities recover.”
