The Reconstruction Plan is Progressing According to Minister Juan Carlos Orillac.

Access roads, electricity, and drinking water were restored in the first few days after the earthquake. Communication is now available in most areas, although weight restrictions remain in place on some bridges for heavy trucks.

The reconstruction process in the provinces affected by the earthquake of October 9th has already begun. The government of President José Raúl Mulino has set a target completion date of March 2027; this was reaffirmed by the Minister of the Presidency, Juan Carlos Orillac, who emphasized that this is the date by which all those affected should have their new homes.  “Houses are already being built in different areas. Initially, we started with 1,300 houses according to a design plan from the Ministry of Housing (MIVIOT), which are safe and earthquake-resistant houses,” Orillac revealed.
