Panama’s exports reach $1,157.8 million: What does Panama Offer the World?
Panama’s export basket includes agricultural, fishing, forestry, pharmaceutical, and processed products that form part of the country’s offering in international markets. This diversity, along with the growth of exports from special sectors, shaped the performance of the country’s external sales during the first nine months of 2026.
Among the main products that Panama exports abroad are frozen shrimp, bananas, palm oil, teak, pharmaceutical products and coffee, a combination that reflects the variety of goods that make up the Panamanian export offer.
Between January and September 2026, this supply reached $1,157.8 million , a growth of 17.2% compared to the same period in 2025, according to the Export Performance Report, from the Office of Commercial Intelligence (Intelcom) with information from the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC), released by the Minister of Commerce and Industries, Julio Moltó.
Regarding destinations, the United States remains among the top markets for Panamanian exports, along with countries in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean. This presence in different regions reflects the reach of Panamanian products in international trade.
Moltó also highlighted the growth of exports with higher added value, which reflect a greater share of processed products within the supply that Panama brings to international markets.
“Selling abroad is important, but so is the fact that we can increasingly offer products with greater value. This expands business opportunities for our companies and allows us to reach different buyers ,” he said.
