A percentage of the profits obtained during the World of Coffee Panama 2026 international event, which will be held from October 23 to 25 at the Panama Convention Center, will be donated to the Panamanian Red Cross for the benefit of those affected by the recent earthquake. This was reported on Sunday, October 18, by the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP) and the Specialty Coffee Association of Panama (SCAP). Both groups explained that during the event, spaces will be set up to facilitate the collection of direct donations from attendees and exhibitors. The Chamber of Commerce also stated that maintaining economic dynamism in the unaffected areas is a fundamental pillar to sustain reconstruction efforts and social aid.

Through the institutional space Cámara Opina, the president of the CCIAP, Aurelio Barría Pino, emphasized that keeping companies operational, jobs active and attracting visitors generates the essential resources to support affected families and restore damaged infrastructure. The business sector reiterates that the reactivation of commerce, tourism, and the provision of services in areas with operational infrastructure, such as Panama City, enhance the national response capacity to address the emergency in the most vulnerable areas.
