11,000 Alleged Counterfeit Medical Supplies are Seized by the National Police in Juan Díaz Panama. 

The National Police, in conjunction with the Public Ministry, seized 11,886 medical supplies of allegedly counterfeit brands during a raid carried out in a warehouse located in the Juan Díaz district, in Panama City, from where these products were distributed and sold.  During the search, authorities found several boxes containing bandages, gauze, and other medical supplies. The items will be sent for expert analysis as part of an investigation into alleged intellectual property crimes related to trademark infringement. 

DIJ has Carried out 18 Operations for Crimes Against Intellectual Property in 2026.

Lieutenant Mario Rumbo reported that, so far in 2026, the Directorate of Judicial Investigation (DIJ) has carried out 18 operations related to crimes against intellectual property.  These actions have led to the seizure of contraband cigarettes, counterfeit branded goods, medical supplies, and automotive parts.  According to Rumbo, the value of the products seized during these operations exceeds one million dollars.  Investigations are ongoing to determine possible liability related to the distribution and sale of the items seized in Juan Díaz.
