Don’t worry if your plan no longer covers emergency coverage in Panama! There is a better solution! You can change to a different Medicare Advantage plan between October 15th to December 7th.

Monitor your email and mail for your plan’s Annual Notice of Change, or log in to your insurer’s website to review your 2027 coverage.
Medicare Open Enrollment runs October 15–December 7. If you’re eligible to change plans, this is your opportunity to review your options for coverage beginning January 1.
Before choosing a plan, verify that the Panama hospital nearest you accepts your exact insurance for direct billing. Otherwise, you may need to pay upfront and file a claim, with reimbursement subject to your plan’s terms. Some hospitals refuse to work with certain Medicare Advantage plans.
