The Flag Football World Cup Has Panama’s Teams Advance to the Quarterfinals.

The Panamanian Women’s National Team defeated Brazil 12-6 today and advanced to the quarterfinals of the IFAF Flag Football World Championship, being held in Düsseldorf, Germany. The Panamanians finished the three-game group stage (Group D) with two wins and one loss, behind Canada (3-0). They will now face Great Britain in the quarterfinals tomorrow, Saturday, August 15, at 3:30 a.m. (Panama time).  In the men’s competition, the Panamanian team also defeated Great Britain today, 33-27, securing their place in the quarterfinals. The national team finished second in Group D with two wins and one loss, surpassed only by Italy (3-0). Their quarterfinal opponent will be Mexico, tomorrow at 6:00 a.m.  The tournament ends on August 16.
