MICI and AIG Investigate as Panama Emprende Suffers a Cyberattack
Cybercriminals reportedly stole data from the platform. The AIG is investigating the incident. The director of the AIG, Adolfo Fábrega, confirmed the incident, noted that the impact was low and explained that a pattern of prolonged intrusions into state servers is being investigated.
The Panamanian government is investigating a new cybersecurity incident related to the Panama Emprende platform, managed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MICI), after alerts were issued about the possible leak of its database on dark web forums.
The entity explained that this analysis is being carried out in coordination with the National Authority for Government Innovation (AIG), responsible for the technological management of the State.
