Two influenza deaths prompt mass vaccination program
AFTER two deaths were confirmed in the country due to the AH1N1 Influenza virus and given the increase in severe flu cases, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) in conjunction with the Social Security Fund, announced a mass vaccination campaign at the national level free of charge in all health centers and polyclinics of the Social Security Fund(CSS).
The campaign is aimed at infants, young people, adults, the elderly, and the disabled who require a dose of vaccine against the new strain of Influenza, in addition to the other vaccines that are part of the national vaccination scheme.
The Metropolitan Health Region will be offering the vaccine against influenza, from Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm in the 19 health centers throughout the capital.
In addition, there will be a day outside the walls this weekend, on Saturday, June 3, at the Las Mañanitas health center and on Sunday, June 4, at the El Chorrillo health center from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. both days.
