Panama National Police Arrest Those Involved in a Shooting Incident Near the School in Dolega

Police arrest two people in Doleguita after shots fired near a school.

A shooting incident occurred at midday on Wednesday, April 22, near the Doleguita School in the province of Chiriquí. Authorities confirmed that no one was injured or killed. The official report indicates that the altercation began after an argument between two individuals in the parking lot of a nearby bank. When one of those involved attempted to flee on foot, a civilian passing by opened fire in an attempt to stop him, believing it to be a criminal act. 


The rapid intervention of the police units allowed for the immediate apprehension of the two subjects involved, as well as the recovery of the firearms used in the incident.  Following the incident, parents arrived to pick up their children.  The case has been turned over to the appropriate authorities to determine responsibility for the possession of weapons and the exchange of gunfire in a school zone.  The intervention of the police units allowed for the immediate apprehension of the two subjects involved in the shooting incident near the school
