During the 2026 Carnivals SUME Received 3,433 Effective Calls to the 911 Line
SUME is ‘The Single Emergency System for Prehospital Emergency Management’. A statistical report from SUME indicates that this entity dispatched some 981 ambulances during the Carnival 2026 operation. Thus, the most frequently attended cases were unconsciousness and/or fainting spells, totaling 143. Also attended were 142 cases of traffic accidents, 95 falls, 102 people with respiratory problems, 20 with cardiac problems, and three people who drowned.
It was reported that, as of this reporting date, 440 inter-institutional coordination efforts had taken place. Of these, 216 were with the fire department, 113 with the National Police, 63 with the Red Cross, 17 with the Ministry of Health, 14 with the Social Security Fund, six with other public institutions, seven with the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), and four with private institutions. It should be noted that SUME continued participating in Operation Carnivals 2026 Guardians Phase II at the National Emergency Operations Center in Santa María, Herrera, but also attending to regular calls to the SUME Dispatch Center.
