Registration opens for Parade of a Thousand Polleras

 

From Friday, December 2 to 30, the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) opened the registration period for the delegations that will participate in the Thousand Polleras Parade, for which the website atp.gob.pa was enabled. , commercial events section, where you will have access to the registration form and you will be able to know the regulations for the participation of the delegations.

According to the entity, they are part of the preparations that are being made for the eleventh version of the Parade of the Thousand Polleras, which will take place on January 14, in the district of Las Tablas, province of Los Santos.

The general administrator of the ATP, Iván Eskildsen, stressed that this folkloric event is very well positioned and is one of the events that attract the most visitors and highlights the extraordinary cultural richness of this important region of the country.

For the ATP, the Parade of the Thousand Skirts is a fundamental pillar of the strategy of the Master Plan for Sustainable Tourism. It is part of the Folklore Circuit, which seeks to show tourists the Azuerean identity, its gastronomy, festivals, dances, crafts, and legends.

For the parade, 250,000 to 300,000 visitors are expected, which represents an important economic injection for the Azuero region. The event receives more visitors than in the four days of carnival, so important is the Parade for the economy.

The participation positions will be coordinated through a notarial draw, which will take place on Wednesday, January 4,  at the ATLAPA convention center.

In order for the folkloric activity to have greater visibility, before national and foreign tourists, it was determined that only the participation of floats of private companies, which represent Panamanian folklore, will be allowed.
