Panama National Police Arrest 817 People in the Last 72 Hours

Under the Firmness Plan, the National Police arrested 817 people in the last 72 hours. Of these, 417 were arrested on warrants, 284 for administrative offenses, 64 caught in the act, and 52 for drug trafficking.  159 search warrants were executed, 10 firearms, 50 rounds of ammunition, $769.00 in cash, 14 packages of drugs seized, two vehicles recovered and one animal rescued. 

In terms of traffic violations, 3,900 tickets were issued, including 657 for speeding, 219 for improper lighting, 122 for expired licenses, 164 for driving under the influence, and 44 for using a cell phone while driving. Additionally, 519 vehicles were towed for various reasons.
