Carrasquilla Panama Left without Electricity: Old Tree Falls on Power Lines

The trunk and branches were left blocking the road, forcing a reduction in the flow of vehicles. Naturgy Panama sent technical teams to check the damage to the network.

A tree in poor condition finally fell in the Carrasquilla neighborhood, bringing down part of the power lines.  The fall occurred between 72nd and 66th Streets, affecting areas such as La Loma and San Francisco, where several residents lost power.  The tree trunk and branches were left blocking the road, forcing a reduction in traffic. Some cables were left dangling, causing concern among pedestrians and drivers in the area during rush hour.

Units from the Panama Fire Department arrived at the scene and began work to cut down and remove the tree.  The priority was to clear the street and prevent accidents, while assessing the risks from the fallen power lines.  Naturgy Panama has sent technical teams to assess the damage to the power grid and begin restoring electricity service to the affected areas. The company reported that work will continue until safe conditions are guaranteed.
