A Panama Influencer and Four Others Arrested for Financial Fraud of More Than $786,000
A well-known influencer from Panama and four other people were arrested this Tuesday in Operation “Total Fraud”. The detainees are being investigated for financial crimes and money laundering, as they are believed to have manipulated documents to illegally access bank funds.
The Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office, through its Economic Crimes Section, announced the dismantling of a group involved in a financial fraud scheme targeting the Savings Bank, which resulted in losses of $786,171.98. Of the five individuals arrested, including an influencer, the investigation revealed that each obtained over $30,000 within this network. During the arrests, a firearm with 15 rounds of ammunition was seized and is now part of the ongoing investigation.

The investigation also revealed that the individuals involved allegedly submitted falsified appraisal reports to the Savings Bank to obtain a mortgage loan for the aforementioned amount. The detainees are being investigated for financial crimes and money laundering, as they are believed to have manipulated documents to illegally access bank funds.
