Panama has Two Alerts Issued for Adverse Conditions on Both Coasts

On the Pacific coast, winds with westerly and southerly winds are expected to intensify from this Friday, October 10th, to Monday, October 13th. These conditions will cause increased waves and rough seas along the entire Pacific coast of the country.

The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) has issued two alerts due to adverse maritime conditions that will affect both the Pacific and Caribbean coasts of Panama in the coming days.  On the Pacific coast, winds with westerly and southerly winds are expected to intensify from this Friday, October 10th, to Monday, October 13th. These conditions will cause increased waves and rough seas along the entire Pacific coast of the country.  Meanwhile, on the Caribbean coast, adverse maritime conditions are forecast due to the presence of swells and increased wind speeds.

These will primarily affect the central and western Caribbean regions, with windy conditions in the east. This alert will be in effect from Saturday, October 11th to Monday, October 13th. Sinaproc recommends extreme caution to bathers , crews of small boats and vulnerable coastal communities, due to the risk of sea incursions into low-lying areas.  The institution reported that it will maintain constant monitoring and surveillance of the situation to safeguard the safety of the population.
