Panama Police Officer Crashes into Tree During a Cycling Competition and Dies

The National Police confirmed the death of Second Corporal Jesús Sanjur, who died this Sunday while participating in the “Clásico Monumento de Azuero” Cycling Circuit.  According to the official report, the uniformed officer lost control of the bicycle and collided with a tree, resulting in his death.  Director General Jaime Fernández, on behalf of all sworn and non-sworn members of the institution, expressed his solidarity and condolences to the family of the uniformed officer in this difficult time.  With two years and seven months of service, Sanjur worked in the Department of Labor and Family Welfare, where he stood out for his commitment, sense of belonging and vocation of service, leaving an indelible mark on his colleagues.
