Improv in Panama more than a barrel of laughs
By Lourdes Quijada
Improv in Panama just keeps getting better and audience ratings higher. I’m talking theater of course, and not that meal-out of- a can you served your partner when you burned the promised coq au vin.
The folks whose infectious energy goes to make up Panama's only English speaking Improvisational troupe – Improv8 have four successful seasons to their credit , and hold out great promise for their next appearance at the home and heart of English stage activity, The Theatre Guild of Ancon.
Round five begins April 25 and they have a brand new production of hilarious improv games with plenty of audience participation. But Improv is more than belly laughs, it calls for quick thinking and polished acting skills.
Fresh faced improv actors will be joining some well-known faces of the past, congealing their skills and style for laughter–seeking audiences on 7 show nights.
The talented pianist Alfonso Lewis will be returning to accompany the show with his spontaneous piano improve offering an exciting musical twist.
A note from the team says: “Every show season is a bigger and better production and the loyal fan base is ever expanding. That’s a hint to make sure of you tickets early.
Curtain up each night is at 8 pm so the early evening traffic snarl will be over and, of course, you will have time to meet fellow theater lovers on the patio.
One thing about Improv is that each performance is different, and if you enjoy the first, you can always return for more.
