More bases to fight drug trafficking
A new naval base aimed at reducing drug trafficking on the Colombia-Panamana border will be opened next week.
The announcement came yesterday (April 14) from José Raúl Mulino Minister of Government and Justice.
Located , in the Piña Bay in the Darién the base will formally open on April 23 and will be the country’s fourth drug-war installation.
Mulino said that the new base will be the most important one to address drug trafficking in the area.
The National Aeronaval Service hopes to open A fifth Aeronaval Service base, will open in Rambala,in Bocas del Toro, by month’s end.
