Taxi drivers call for fare increase

Taxi drivers in Colón massed  Monday to demand the right to  charge higher fares.A caravan of taxis lined up at Mariano Bula Stadium and drove to the headquarters of the transportation authority.

Taxi union member Beby Chiari told La Presnas that the fare increase is needed because taxi drivers are facing higher prices for fuel and to maintain their vehicles. They want to increase fares by 75 cents and $1.
