Martinelli hands-on mission to Mexico

President, Ricardo Martinelli, is in Mexico to sign a partnership agreement with Microsoft to train teachers in the use of computers in the classroom.

Besides the training of 40,000 teachers, Microsoft will provide tools on-line and operating system for public school students.

The sources did not provide details of the scope, duration or costs of this training agreement.
Martinellli will also be one of the keynote speakers at a forum for public sector leaders at the invitation of Microsoft, president Steve Ballmer.

The President told reporters that the technology is a crucial tool in his vision of modern Panama, and mass access to free wireless internet and digital inclusion
The Leaders’ Forum Public Sector in Latin America and the The entourage accompanying Martinelli is comprised of the Vice President and Foreign Minister of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela, the Minister of Education, Lucy Molinar, the general manager of the National Authority for Government Innovation, Eduardo Jaen, and Minister Counsellor, Larry Eduardo Maduro .
