Laura Michelle Reese at the time of her arrest in NicaraguaLaura Michelle Reese was arrested in Nicaragua and handed over to the Panamanian authorities along with Holbert, who quickly confessed to five killings in Bocas del Toro. She had refused to make a statement
The assistant prosecutor, Angel Calderon, said that she knew nothing of what was her partner, better known as Wild Bill, was up to.

Rees, whose statement was in English and required the attendance of a translator, insisted that Holbert was acting on his own, and she knew nothing of what he did. But  she could not explain the origin of some jewelry she wore and which has been identified as belonging to the victims.

According to the prosecutor, there will be a need for the expansion of her preliminary statement, because there are still many questions regarding involvement in the five crimes that Holbert has confessed to.
Calderón said today that Costa Rican authorities are expected to hand over this week a number of objects left by Holbert in his attempt to escape, inclousing three laptops, a firearm, a safe and multiple documents.
