Floods everywhere but drinking water gone

The ongoing heavy rainfall has left Chorrera and Arraiján  without potable water.

The purification plants of Mendoza and Laguna Alta, which are supplied with water from Lake Gatun which is recording high levels of turbidity have been closed says the national water and sewage authority (IDAAN)l

The last reserve of drinking water kept by Idaan was a million gallons in a storage in La Chorrera.

Communities located at high points in those areas west of the province of Panama were the first to run out of water.

The Trapichito water treatment plant in La Chorrera is flooded by water from the Caimito river
