Pensioners close traffic hub in fight for increase

Grey and white power returned to the streets of Panama Thursday, as retirees blocked traffic in a key transport center, Plaza 5 de Mayo.

The jubilados (pensioners) who have been following up on President Ricardo Martinelli’s campaign promises to increase pensions for over two year said they will be back on Monday August 15, the anniversary of the founding of Panama City.

This time they will be on Transistmica  leading to the Hospital Complex Arnulfo Arias Madrid which has its own problems with  bacteria resistant to anti-biotics.
