Toll free North Corridor as strike continues
Leaders of the 300 north corridor striking workers say that they have been threatened with lay offs starting Wednesday, April 18.
Abdiel Meneses, secretary general of the Corridor Workers' Union, told La Prensa. on Tuesday, that there will be be no negotiations to end the strike and money will not be collected at the toll booths of the corridor although the corridor operating company Pycsa says it will start to lay off staff.
Employees went on strike Monday and did not i not collect tolls from motorists. The union leadership plans to meet with members on Wednesday to decide on further steps. A spokesmen said the corridor operators Pycsa, can threaten them, but there is a collective agreement that prevents layoffs.
