Revoke Martinelli judicial appointments Vice President
Vice President, Juan Carlos Varela has called on President Ricardo Martinelli and his Cabinet to revoke the appointment of three judges to the Fifth Chamber of Constitutional Guarantees.
Varela described the designation as an "assault on democracy" to name two ex candidates for Democratic Change and a person close to Martinelli in the Fifth Chamber, "It makes no sense to break the balance in the Supreme Court…and ride over the Constitution, managing justice at will ".
Varela, speaking on RBC Radio, on Satuday recalled that he is calling on citizens to come to protest to the National Assembly at 2:00 pm on Monday. "This is an issue of country and state."
The vice president challenged those who criticized the new alliance of opposition parties and noted that these groups only think about democracy and 3 million Panamanians.
