Ruling party plans 5 de Mayo Rally, July 1

Plaza 5 de Mayo the scene of many anti government protests Sunday will be used July 1, for a rally by  the ruling Democratic Change (CD) party which has plummeted in the polls.

The demonstration will mark Martinelli’s third year in office said Giacomo Tamburelli, General Secretary of Democratic Change, on Monday , June 25.

Tamburelli said that this government in three years has contributed to the development of the country with extraordinary economic and social achievements. "We will highlight all the accomplishments made ??by the Government  and do not intend to make any show of force, Panamanians know we're working," he said "There are countless actions by the Government; a significant increase in the minimum wage, universal scholarships, school supplies and free Internet, the program providing $100 per month to persons over 70 years without financial resources and who receive no pension among others.
