Panama strong partner in fight against crime- UK Foreign Secretary

Panama is "one of Britain’s strongest Latin American partners in the fight against organized crime” says British Foreign Secretary William Hague.

He spoke on Thursday, July 26 on the eve of the Olympic opening ceremony after meeting with President Ricardo Martinelli in London.

Hague  said  that both countries share a "commitment to free and open trade" after receiving Martinelli, who is visiting the UK for the second time less than a year, this time to attend the Olympics. 

"The United Kingdom and Panama have an increasingly close relationship, based on mutual respect and shared values, such as a commitment to free trade and open, "said Hague in a statement. 

In the note, Hague said that the UK is Panma’s " greatest investor" with several British companies developing  weighty operations in the capital Martinelli  and Hague discussed "various issues related to areas of bilateral cooperation, including security issues,"  and dealt with other issues of regional and trade policy, "The UK values ??the views of Panama as a trusted partner in Latin America and as a regional financial and commercial center," said the statement.
