Bus users repeat slow service complaints
Users of the Metro bus system are again complaining of long waits for buses and demanding that more be put into circulation.
The leader of the Association of Public Transport Users , David Ramirez, said there is disappointment among users over the time taken to serve the routes.
The authorities he said, should set a timetable of operations for the public about bus frequencies Bus, as sometimes there are waits of 30 minutes.
Michael Knight, a spokesman for the My Bus company, said that the contract provides for 1,200 buses for routes in the capital and San Miguelito, of which 900 are circulating.
He explained that the frequency of the units, peaks to three to six minutes, while in regular hours they arrive every 15 minutes, tops.
Nicholas Brea, secretary general of the Transit Authority (ATTT) estimated that by January 2, 2013 there should be the no Diablos Rojos in the capital city. Earlier Roberto Henriquez, Minister of the Presidency had said that the rfe-used school buses would be around until the end of next year. His predecessor, Jimmy Papadimitriu had promised that they would be gone by July of this year.
Brea said that all complaints of lack of buses are checked by the authority.
The ATTT and My Bus argue that there is the perception of few buses because traffic flow is affected by the construction work and expansion of roads.
