Sinaproc issues week long high tide alert

With tides of nearly 18 feet forecast during the upcoming week, Panama's Civil Protection body (Sinaproc) issued a Pacific Coast alert on Sunday September 15.

The alert will remain in place through Friday September 21. Tides between 15.8 feet and 17.8 feet have already been recorded and director Arturo Alvarado, recommended that people take necessary measures against these tides while visiting the beaches. He also advised citizens to avoid using rivers as constant rain recorded across the country, is causing an increase in flow.

On Wednesday, September 19 there will be a tide of 17.8 feet at 5:37 am and on Thursday September 20 at 6:23 am there will be a 17.5 feet tide.
