Panama gets bronze in Latin America internet stakes

Panama ranks third country in Latin America in terms of internet access, according to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in New York.

The Latin American countries with a higher proportion of Internet users are Chile, with 53.9% of the total population is followed by Brazil (45%) Third in the region is Panama, with 42.7% Internet access.

In worldwide ranking Panama sits at 70.
\\internet access is a reality for 32.5% of the people who inhabit the planet, according to an ITU report released Sunday, which puts Iceland, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Luxembourg and Denmark as the only countries with more than 90% of the population connected to the network. The document, prepared by the Broadband Commission for Digital Development of ITU, presents figures from 177 countries.
Besides the good figures achieved by the Nordic countries, with more than 75% of inhabitants connected to the network, other highlighted countries were New Zealand (86%), South Korea (83.8%), Germany (83%), the UK (82%), France (79.6%), Japan (79.5%) and the U.S. (77.9%).
