Government gives 20 year sand contract to insider

The Ministry of Trade and Industry has awarded a 20 year contract to extract sand underwater in Chame, to Ricardo Suarez Sogo, uncle of presidential adviser and former Minister of Public Works, Federico Suarez.

His company is Maribel Products. Sogo Suárez is also chairman of National Warehousing, an asphalt plant benefited from lucrative contracts with the State under the program 'paving my city' and was fined for environmental pollution says La Prensa.
