Indefinite leave for CD secretary facing embezzlement allegations
THE SECRETARY of the ruling Democratic Change (CD) party, facing embezzlement allegations, has taken “indefinite” leave
The announcement came from Minister of Labor and Workforce Development, Alma Cortez on Saturday January 19.
Giacomo Tamburrelli was reported to the Public Ministry last October for alleged "embezzlement" during his tenure as director of the National Assistance Program.
But he will still run as a candidate to represent circuit 8-7 in the province of Panama.
Cortez made gave her statement arrival in the city of Santiago, where CD members are meeting to establish their official calendar and primaries.
Also at the meeting was Interior Minister, Jorge Ricardo Fabrega. And reports indicate they will give support to the candidacies of the administrator of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Giselle Burillo, for the Presidency of the Republic, and the Mayor of Panama, Roxana Mendez, to retain her job.
