Passenger woes continue on low traffic day

Government promises and  fines imposed on the Mi Bus company responsible for the running of the Metro Bus service still haven’t managed to disperse the long line ups and waits at some stops.

Plaza Cinco De Mayo has been one of the main stumbling blocks since the day the allegedly last of the Diablos Rojos were dispatched to the bus knackers yard, (Some are still seen and heard on city streets while the owners await their compensation checks).
The government has made frequent promises that “next week will better”, but on Thursday March 28 , he day after Mi Bus got a $1,134 slap on the wrist fine for poor service. Passengers in Cinco De Mayo gathered to protest lack of service in Ciudad Bolívar and Chepo.
Faced with the fine, Mi Bus said that traffic jams contributed to the poor service, but on Thursday, with schools closed and thousands heading for the interior, traffic in the city flowed at a pace not seen since the Carnival time exodus.
The complainants said that they spend too much time waiting for a Metro Bus.
The Transit agency (ATTT) said that improvements will be seen next week.
