Oderbrecht facing legal action over unpaid taxes

The Brazilian company Norberto Odebretch has been threatened with legal the mayor of Colon, for non payment of taxes.

Damaso Reynaldo Garcia, said the company owed, about $5 million in city taxes for work on the expansion  of the Colon corridor, over which he will take legal action.: "I do not want to see evasion of about $60 million on the project which was the last stretch of the Panama-Colon highway," he said

Currently the construction company, which has received well over a billion dollars, in government contracts, is working  on six roads, underground electric cables and three bridges totaling  $127 million.
