Panama Internet betting operators exposed by FBI
SIXTEEN companies and five people living in Panama have been indicted by an Oklahoma federal jury for taking illegal Internet bets and money laundering .
They are the owners of Legendz Sports company operating in Panama since 2003 says La Prensa
According to research from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) obtained by La Prensa Bartice Alan King, through Legendz Sports, processed billions of gambling dollars, mainly through players in the U.S., where these bets are prohibited.
The jury indicted 34 people and 23 companies,16 of the companies registered in Panama and five of the indicted people are in the country according to the FBI.
Legendz Sports settled here after closing a similar operation in Costa Rica. The company captured U.S. gambling over the Internet or by phone
The Oklahoma attorney, Sanford Coats, said the research took several years and the accused could be sentenced to 20 years in prison.
