Presidential candidate has plan to solve trash problem
JUAN CARLOS Navarro, PRD presidential candidate of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD), says that decentralization could solve one of the major problems of Panama — the collection of waste.
Navarro, is a former mayor of Panama. Control of garbage collection was taken away from the city and handed to a newly created garbage authority. He, said the responsibility collecting trash should be handed back to the municipalities to solve Panama' City's perennial problem.
Navarro's statements were made during a tour Saturday, April 27, in the Pedregal area where inhabitants spoke about their major needs and concerns.
"We're walking, listening and consulting with people to make plans now with our candidates, government representatives, mayors and deputies, which in 2014 will allow us to solve their problems," said the leader of the opposition PRD
