Navarro throws down gauntlet to Martinelli
PRD PRESIDENTIAL candidate Juan Carlos Navarro has challenged President Ricardo Martinelli to prove the statement in which he accused Navarro of corruption.
"If the president has any evidence against me, I invite him to present a complaint with this evidence to the public prosecutor," said Navarro on Tuesday June 4
He added that he knows that this will not happen because he did nothing wrong while he was the mayor of Panama City.
Navarro called Martinelli's commments "deplorable and reprehensible" considering he is the president of the country. His words have been echoed by many political commentators and a former Electoral College Judge who called Martinelli a bully that the people had to resist and prophesized that the president’s words would come back to haunt him.
