Another Electoral judge predicts bad election campaign
ANOTHER Electoral Tribunal judge has weighed into the debate on illegal wiretapping and recording of conversations in Panama.
Erasmo Pinilla said Tuesday, June 11 that there is no doubt telephone conversations between political leaders are being recorded and that the issue is troubling. He also forecasts bad times ahead.
"There is no privacy, you don't know who is listening," the judge said.
He said the use of illegal wiretaps lacks ethics and principles and it is difficult to rule on issue during an election when they contain these types of offenses, as well as dirty campaigning and lack of transparency in financing.
"I think it's going to be bad," he said
