Martinelli a threat to democracy former electoral judge

FORMER PANAMA Electoral Tribunal (TE) Judge Gerardo Solís said Friday, June 21, that President Ricardo Martinelli is "a threat to democracy."

Solís said that the president acts with "bad faith and backbiting" towards those who do not agree with him.

The condemnation came only two days after the country’s former comptroller had made a damning indictment of the president as a man who would be remembered as a thief, doing “great works for large bribes”. https://www.newsroompanama.com/panama/5933-martinelli-government-based-on-business-bribery-excomptroller.html
"The day that man is out of the Presidency the seeds of democracy will once again be sewn in Panama," said Solis.
Regarding the issue of presidential re-election, says La Prensa the former judge said that the initiative presented in the National Assembly regarding immediate re-election is a smear campaign by the government.
He said that this is the second time that Honorio Quesada, a former pre-presidential candidate of the PRD, has submitted the initiative in favor of the CD.
