EDUCATION: PPA broadens scope with Knightsbridge Schools International

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES with an international appeal continue to expand in Panama providing enhanced opportunities for those wishing to broaden their choices when making the next step.

Panama Pacifico Academy (PPA), which was launched last year under the direction of Wendy McArthur has joined Knightsbridge Schools International (KSI) and will become part of a global network of schools made up of internationally minded students, faculties and parents.

Plans are afoot for the building of a new school housing 1,200 students and there will be opportunities for exchange programs with Knightsbridge Schools in other countries.

Knightsbridge International has schools located in Turkey, Montenegro, and Colombia and are also planning on opening schools in Africa and other parts of Latin America, Europe and Asia.

In a press release PPA says that joining the Knightsbridge family is a good marriage as both organizations have values and beliefs that mirror one another. KSI is committed to implementing the International Baccalaureate Programs in all three divisions, Primary Years Program, Middle Years Program and the Diploma Program and aims to develop the knowledge, values and skills of all learners through active inquiry, participation and reflection so that they may become collaborative and compassionate leaders who are committed to making a positive difference.

KSI says it has been very impressed with the PPA leadership and faculty and many will remain with KSI Panama. The educational program stays the same and the commitment to service learning and technology will also continue. Wendy McArthur will continue as director of the school.

The future of Knightsbridge Schools International Panama is bright. KSI also offers exciting summer camp programs that allows students to attend camps hosted at other KSI campuses. Students in Panama could benefit from a summer exchange in countries like Montenegro and the United Kingdom.

“While the school’s name has changed, the excellent program, the caring community and the value of educating our children to be curious, confident,
empathetic, creative learners will continue. The school name does not define the accomplishments of what was achieved at PPA this year but the commitment of the families and educators that worked together does,” says the release

KSI Panama is dedicated to developing self-motivated, independent learners with enquiring minds who understand the value of collaboration and aim for the highest standard in all they do.

Those who enjoyed the participation of the PPA choir at the December 2012 Carols by Candlelight Festival, will not be disappointed this year. They will be back in greater strength.
