40th floor fire forces evacuation of apartment tower

A TOTAL evacuation of an apartment tower next to the Punta Pacifica Hospital.behind the Torres de Las Americas, took place late Tuesday afternoon.

A fire was reported:on the 40th floor of the  Pacific Point building, at about 4.40pm

Fire Captain Iran Ponce said no injuries were reported. The fire was quickly brought under control and people were able to return to the building a short time later.
Ponce said the investigation is continuing.
Fire ladders used in Panama reach only to the 7th floor.
