Presidential hopeful tongue whips opponent

PRESIDENTIAL candidate José Domingo Arias lashed out Sunday, August 25, against PRD presidential candidate Juan Carlos Navarro saying he has ignored the interests of the people.

In a 12-minute speech in Los Santos, Arias said Navarro has just criticized the current government but has done nothing for the country.

"The other candidate had the opportunity of being in the government for 10 years as mayor, and did nothing," Arias said. "He had the opportunity to do something, and he did nothing."
He argued that his party is united, because its members have only one interest: "to continue to change the life of the country."
He said the party is also attracting opposition members who are looking for a leader who listens to the people.
