License plate blitz nets 1,489

A blitz on car owners who have not renewed their license plates has netted 1,489 culprits since the start of the year.

A press release from the City Treasurer, Iris Moreno whose coffers have benefited from the fines and renewals explained that the purpose of the operations is to force owners to comply with the payment of road taxes. The operations are being carried out consistently and without warning; Moreno requested drivers to approach the Municipal Treasury offices in Hatillo Building or any other branch, to regulate the status of the car and be able to move “without any difficulties or problems” on the capital's streets.
