Government expropriates land in San Francisco

THE GOVERNMENT has expropriated part of a private estate in Boca la Caja, San Francisco, temporarily in favor of 85 families living there.

The 2.3 hectares area is partially located in a beach area where says the Ministry of Housing and Land Management, there is "squatting".

This situation occurs in the middle of zoning changes in San Francisco without consultation with the public, authorization for marine landfill and the sale of the Atlapa Convention Center.
Planners and experts in the field, believe this opens the possibility for expropriation and sale of these lands, which are already targeted by several developers, says La Prensa.
