Panama’s first FTA export
TPKEÑOS became the first company to ship products to the United States under the the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two nations.
Capital.com.pa reports: "This first container is loaded with 250,000 units of breaded cheese fingers bound for Florida, specifically to the Sedanos supermarket chain, which is part of a total order of 500 thousand units. The shipment coincides with the inauguration of the cooling and shipping plant in which this company invested $200,000 ".
According to Diana Salazar, Deputy Minister of International Trade Negotiations, the agreement will allow Panamanian companies to find new markets for their goods.
