Packed schedule as Martinelli heads for UN Assembly
PRESIDENT Ricardo Martinelli is in New York for the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly, and for the farewell tribute to New York Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera, Sunday September 22.
It is expected that on the same day he will meet with the Secretary General of the UN, Ban Ki Moon.
He is also expecting to hold a bilateral meeting with President of of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiadis and attend a reception hosted by U.S. President, Barack Obama, forHeads of State participating in the Assembly UN General.
On Wednesday September 25 Martinelli will address raising among other topics, the rejection of Panama of an by Nicaragua to change the maritime borders as well as the arrest of a North Korean vessel carrying weapons .
The official delegation consists Panamanian Foreign Minister, Fernando Nunez Fabrega, Security Minister Jose Raul Mulino, Deputy Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs, Mayra Arosemena, Director of International Organizations, Tomas Guardia Panama's ambassador to the UN, Pablo Thalassinos.
