Naming of water bill lagards brings flood of payments

THE NAMING OF defaulters who have not paid their water bills produced a flood of payments in September totaling $700,000

The money poured in to Panama's National Water Authority, Idaan ,from across the country just a few days after the publication of the first list of defaulters.

The  Authority reported an increase of $ 100,000 in daily revenues coming in  from all branches..
" Customers have settled debts between $2,000 and $5,000,with residential customers quickest off the mark to pay up," said marketing spokesperson Isandro Ibáñez 
Because of the effectiveness of the delinquency list, Idaan  has announced that Wednesday, October 9, a second list will be published .
