Demands for resignation of Supreme Court judges continue
A FOURTH demonstration to demand the resignations of Supreme Court chief justice Alejandro Moncada Luna and alternate judges Efrén Tello and Gabriel Fernández took place on the steps of the Court on Friday, November 22.
The ongoing protests by lawyers and civil rights activists are because the judges, signed the ruling overturning a decision of the Tribunal Electoral on an election matter, which is a violation of the constitution.
Protesters wrapped in toilet paper protested on the front steps of the Supreme Court and demanded a "cleaning" of the justice system.
The demonstrators also called for the repeal of the law, introduced during the Martinelli administration, that governs the investigation of police officers.
