Navarro denies adviser ties to CD
PRD PRESIDENTIAL candidate Juan Carlos Navarro whose campaign seems to be steering between rocks and shoals, denied Thursday, December 12 that his circle of advisers has any ties to the CD.
"That is totally false," said Navarro, who was surrounded by founders of the PRD.
His denial was in response to statements made by former Minister of the Presidency Demetrio Papadimitriu that Navarro's advisers are also close confidants of President Ricardo Martinelli.
Navarro, who had previously come under fire for alleged secret meetings with President Ricardo Martinelli, declined to comment further about the issue and instead directed the conversation to allegations of corruption involving the current administration.
"All cases of corruption have to be investigated," he said, including the current scandal regarding property revaluations.
The presidential candidate met with PRD founders Carlos Duque, Noel Riande, former President Francisco Rodríguez, Hugo Giro, Laurentino Cortizo, Balbina Herrera, Benjamín Colamarco and others to hear their views on his candidacy.
Notably absent were Navarro critics Francisco Sanchez Cardenas and Mitchel Doens said La Prensa.
